Blue tinted white silver Bugatti veyron Super sport in displayBugatti Veyron Super Sport is a two door coupe introduced in August 2010 at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The car is the successor of Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.Only 30 cars will be made. The car became the World’s fastest car from 2010.The Super Sport is a consequent further development of the classic exclusive Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4.The car was priced at  $ 2.5 million.

How the Veyron Super Sport was Born:

When the original Veyron EB 16.4  was launched in 2005.The car has recorded a top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph).It became the world’s fastest car by defeating Koenigsegg CCR which is the world’s fastest car at that time with a top speed of 387.37 km/h (240.7 mph).Veyron held the world’s fastest car title until 2007.In September 13, 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero TT which is Limited Edition car of 10 units had a theoretical top speed of 273 mph (439 km/h).But during testing the car reached 256.18 mph (412.28 km/h).Although the testing top speed is less than the theoretical top speed it was more than that of Bugatti Veyron and so SSC Ultimate Aero TT has claimed the World’s Fastest Production Car in the world.

To defeat and reclaim the title as the fastest car in the world.Bugatti had to introduce a car which is more powerful than the Veyron and also more aero dynamical. It took three years for Bugatti engineers for developing the Veyron super sport.Which has the same design characteristics of Bugatti Veyron but had a more powerful engine which produced 1200 bhp and 1500 Nm torque. The car during testing attained a top speed of 431 km/h (268 mph) in 2010.Thus regaining the world’s fastest car title from SSC Ultimate Aero TT in 2010.

Design and Engine:

The car has the same design as that of the original Veyron adding more light weight parts like Carbon fibre where ever possible. The air intakes on the top of the roof are lowered to reduce air drag .The car weighs 1995 kg as opposed to original Veyron’s 1,888 kg.The increase in weight was due to the increasing of size of turbo chargers and inter coolers.Although the extensive use of carbon fibre on this car had reduced the weight by some extent.

The car has the same W16 engine a seen on the original Veyron. The engine has a 8 litre displacement and has four turbo chargers. Each cylinder in the engine has 4 valves making a total of 64 valves in the engine. The four turbo chargers were increased in size and to compensate the heat generated by the engine because of the new bigger turbo chargers the intercoolers were also increased in size. The engine produced a maximum horse power of 1200 bhp @ 6,400 rpm and torque of 1500 Nm at 3,000 rpm.The Gear box is 7 speed DSG.

The car attained 431 km/h (268 mph) top speed but to protect the tyres from disintegration the production car was limited to 415 km/h top speed.

Performance Figures:

Because of the high power and torque output the car not only attained more top speed bu the peroformance figures were also increased significantly from the original veyron.

The car can reach 0-100 km/hr in 2.5 seconds.

0-200 km/hr comes in 6.7 seconds and 0-300 Km/hr in 14.6 secs.

The car travel Quarter mile distance in 9.7 seconds.
