Commercial Bank Qatar 2012 Moto GP Jorge Lorenzo wins the first Moto GP Grand Prix of 2012 season

Jorge Lorenzo racing on his 1000 cc Yamaha M1 2012  bike racing for the Factory Yamaha racing team has started his season with a victory.He started the race in pole position.His total race time was 42:44.214.

Dani Pedroa Repsol Honda team riding on Honda RC213V finished in second place with a time difference of 0.852 seconds between him and Jorge Lorenzo.His total race time was 42:45.066.

Casey Stoner who from Repsol Honda roding on honda RC213V is the defending champion for the title had settled for third place in the standings.He fell behind Lorenzo by 2.908 seconds and the difference between him and his team mate Dani Pedrosa was 2.056 seconds.

In Fourth place was Cal Crutchlow from Monster Yamaha Tech 3 riding on satellite Yamaha M1 2012.He was behind Lorenzo by a massive margin of 17.114.

In Fifth place was Cal Crutchlow’s team mate Andrea Dovizioso on the Satellite Yamaha M1 bike was behind Lorenzo by 17.420 seconds.

Nicky Hayden riding Desomosedici GP 12 finished in Sixth place with a time difference of 28.413 seconds.

Valentino Rossi racing for Ducati factory racing failed to impress he finished in tenth place falling behind Lorenzo by 33.665 seconds.

Ben Spies finished in 11 th place.while the three other riders 1 factory rider and 2 Satellite team riders finished in top 5.

Hector Barbera had the highest top speed he reached 342.3 km/hr top speed he finished in ninth place.

The CRT bike best position was held by Colin Edwards in 12 th position on his Suter BMW bike.

The fabulous Losail International Circuit lies on the outskirts of Doha, the capital city of Qatar. Built in little over a year, the track cost $ 58 million.first Grand prix on this Circuit was on  2nd October 2004.In 2008 Qatar celebrated first night time Grand Prix.

Casey Stoner During FP 1 at Qatar

This practice session was dominated by Casey Stoner on his RC213V he made 8 complete laps with a best lap time of 1’56.474 with a top speed of 334.5 km and was followed by Jorge Lorenzo on his Yamaha M1 2012 who made 9 complete laps with best lap time of 1’56.648 and achieved a top speed of 329.9 km/hr with a time difference of 0.174 seconds between him and Casey he settled for second place.In third place was Nicky Hayden on his GP 12 with 0.276  second difference between him and Lorenzo and 0.450 second difference between him and Casey.Nicky Hayden achieved a top speed of 334.2 km/hr.

The fastest rider on the track in terms of top speed was Hector Barbera with the Satellite Desmosedici GP 12 achieved a top speed of 337.2 Kms finished in ninth place with a time difference of 1.438 seconds between him and the fastest man on the track Casey stoner.The slowest factory/sattelite bike was Ben spies on his Yamaha M1 with 328.2 kms.

Valentino Rossi Finished in tenth place dissapointing his fans he was 1.440 seconds behind Casey.

The CRT bikes were left behind by the Factory bikes and Satellite bikes.The Factory bikes combined with the Satellite bikes there were a total of 12 bikes which dominated the race and CRT had to settle for the 13 th position on the grid.The 13 th position was by Randy De Puniet for Power Electronics Aspar on hiis Aprilia CRT machine.The difference between Randy De Puniet and fastest on the track was 3.511 seconds and the difference between him and Stefan Bradl who was 12 th position riding on Satellite Honda RC213V was 1.051 seconds.This shows that the CRT bikes need to perform much more to be competitive.

In terms of top speed the fastest CRT bike was Colin Edwards Suter BMW with a top speed of 317.1 kms.The slowest was Danilo petruci’s Came Ioda Racing project bike with top speed of 292.4 kms. Continue reading
