The New 2012 Audi A4: A preview

Audi recently launched the face lifted version of it’s A4 in New Delhi.  The car is priced between 27.3 lakhs to 38 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) and Audi expects to increase its market share with the new A4. So, lets see what’s new about it.

As you can see above the face lifted Audi A4 gets new head-lights, radiator grille, new fog lamps. The bonnet is also designed to match them. This is a major upgrade from the previous generation and also looks a lot better. The front view is very sporty and gives a new feel to the car. I’m sure that it will gel with with the customers too.

The side view looks familiar to the previous A4 but you can see some changes in the rear apart from a few added curves. It is equipped with new LED tail lamps and a new rear bumper to add to the sporty feel of the car.

Moving on to the interiors, the Audi A4 gets a refreshing glossy centre console, a new gear shift knob, the six spoke steering wheel from the A6 and more chrome. The interiors are airy as before and the refreshed design just makes it more classy.

Here’s a look into the inside of the New Audi A4:

On a whole I must say that I’m impressed with the job Audi has done on the A4, it sure must give its competitors a run for their money. The new A4 is available in three engine options, two diesel and one petrol:

1) The 3 litre TDI Quattro

2) The 2 litre TDI

3) The 1.8 litre TFSI

The 3 litre diesel engine is rated at 245BHP and 500Nm Torque, the litre diesel at 143BHP and 320Nm Torque and the 1.8 litre TFSI petrol at 170BHP and 320Nm Torque.

Whats more interesting is the ARAI fuel efficiency of the 2 litre TDI diesel engine. The figures read 16.55 kmpl and that is too much to ask for a car like this. The TFSI petrol too gives a decent fuel economy of 15.64kmpl with the 3 litre diesel yet to be tested.

Audi expects to sell atleast 2500 units this year and I must say Audi sure has a product that can achieve it. They sure seem to have a winner in hands.
